About the Role
The Assistant Manager – Digital & VAS Planning will oversee Digital & VAS services across telecom infrastructure and software development. The role focuses on automation, scalability, reliability, and DevOps to streamline deployments. You will manage teams, vendors, and consultants, ensure timely delivery of software enhancements, enforce IT & security standards, and collaborate with Commercial, BSS, O&M, and vendor teams to plan and launch new services and platforms.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure solutions follow industry best practices and standards.

Manage projects end-to-end, delivering key milestones in VAS & Digital Service Delivery.

Design effective system architectures and technical roadmaps.

Align service delivery platforms with Telenor strategy and evolve VAS products to meet strategic goals.

Develop and enforce inter- and intra-departmental procedures.

Translate information security policies into technical requirements.
Daily Activities:
-
Refine business requirements into robust technical solutions.
-
Coordinate with vendors, development, testing, and deployment teams.
-
Stakeholder management with internal and external customers.
-
Supervise application development, testing, and rollout support to ensure business continuity.

Integrate third-party VAS/SD platforms with provisioning, charging, and reporting systems (SMS, IVR, USSD, Web).

Plan platform expansion based on forecasts and requirements.

Liaise with vendors for technical solutions of VAS projects.

Support new service/platform introduction and integration with BSS, Commercial, and main vendors.

Coordinate budgets, PRs, and POs with procurement.

Optimize service delivery platform performance through KPI monitoring.

Educate internal and third-party teams on available APIs.
-
Analyze daily reports to ensure network efficiency.
Career Path
This role can progress to Manager – VAS & Service Delivery Platforms or lead digital transformation programs and cross-functional leadership roles within Telenor Technology Division.
Requirements
Education:
-
B.E in Computer, Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunications
-
MS in Project Management
Experience:
-
4–5 years in VAS/Service Delivery & Digital Services planning and operations
-
Planning, dimensioning, and integration of VAS services (e.g., SMSC, USSD, RBT, MCA, CGW, Digital Products Delivery Platform)
-
Experience with API frameworks, gateways, and middleware technologies
-
Hands-on experience with cloud-based service delivery platforms (IaaS & PaaS)
-
Knowledge of digital and traditional SMS & IVR service creation, deployment, and integration

Project management experience with service performance KPIs
Skills:

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

Excellent verbal and written English

Ability to deliver under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Deep understanding of GSM network architecture and VAS/SD products
-
Self-motivated with zeal for innovation and continuous improvement
