About the Role
Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale literacy, library development, and educational initiatives. The role involves close coordination with government departments, donors, and civil society partners to ensure high-quality implementation, reporting, and impact across multiple districts.
Educational Qualification

Master’s degree in Library & Information Sciences, Education, Literature, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
Experience
-
5–7 years of progressively responsible experience managing educational or literacy-focused projects.

Prior experience in literacy programs, library development, book adaptation, printing, and publication initiatives is highly preferred.

Strong expertise in project planning, implementation, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting.

Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, conflict management, and decision-making skills.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu, with proven ability to prepare high-quality reports and donor documentation.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with government officials, donors, and civil society organizations.

Experience managing multi-district teams and coordinating large-scale education or literacy initiatives.

Familiarity with foundational learning frameworks, literacy assessment tools, and scope & sequence development (preferred).

Ability to oversee content adaptation, translation, and publication of children’s reading materials.

Willingness to travel frequently to project districts for monitoring and support.

Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership and support to project teams, including district coordinators and field staff, ensuring smooth execution of project activities.

Oversee implementation of library establishment, book printing and distribution, literacy instruction development, and gender-focused literacy advocacy initiatives.

Monitor field activities across districts, including library operations, teacher trainings, storybook distribution, and impact evaluations to ensure quality and compliance with project standards.

Plan, lead, and document technical and management meetings with RtR representatives, School Education Departments, and other stakeholders.

Serve as the primary liaison between ITA, government departments, curriculum authorities, and community partners.

Support financial management through budget planning, expenditure monitoring, and coordination with finance and operations teams.

Prepare comprehensive progress reports with qualitative and quantitative analysis for donors, management, and technical teams.

Coordinate documentation and dissemination activities, including photography, success stories, and advocacy materials.

Oversee adaptation, translation, and distribution of storybooks in multiple languages, ensuring alignment with curriculum and reading levels.

Identify implementation challenges and develop timely, practical solutions with district and technical teams.

Review and approve work plans, progress reports, and deliverables submitted by project staff.

Supervise district coordinators, field staff, and consultants, ensuring accountability and timely completion of tasks.

Represent ITA in meetings, workshops, and stakeholder consultations.

Prepare and present written and verbal reports, briefing notes, and technical documentation.

Perform additional duties as required to support overall project objectives.
