Role Overview:
The Division Manager – Quality Assurance will lead and oversee all quality management and food safety operations in Pakistan. This role ensures compliance with METRO Global QA standards, local food safety regulations, and international certifications (FSSC 22000, Halal). The position drives continuous improvement, manages the QA team, and fosters a culture of quality and safety across stores, warehouses, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Implement and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) in Pakistan.

  • Develop QA strategies aligned with global standards and local regulations.

  • Lead the QA division to ensure risk-based compliance and operational excellence.

  • Serve as the primary contact for global QA audits and coordination.

Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee store, warehouse, and supplier QA activities (FSSC 22000, Halal, HACCP).

  • Define product specifications for Own Brand, sensitive assortments, and imports.

  • Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and corrective action follow-ups.

  • Support new store openings, product launches, and process changes.

Supplier & Product Quality Management

  • Manage supplier QA programs, inspections, and approvals.

  • Oversee product monitoring, testing, and compliance reporting.

  • Handle complaints, non-conformances, product withdrawals, and recalls.

  • Collaborate with authorities, scientific bodies, and service providers.

  • Ensure continuous QA training and knowledge transfer across the organization.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare QA reports, KPIs, and dashboards for senior management.

  • Analyze quality trends and recommend improvements.

  • Ensure alignment with global QA metrics and governance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field.

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Quality/Food Safety, or equivalent) preferred.

  • 8+ years’ progressive experience in QA/Food Safety/Quality Management in retail, FMCG, food manufacturing, or supply chain.
