Job Purpose

Drive the South Trade Sales team to achieve strong commercial performance by delivering best-in-class service to Trade Customers, executing the defined sales force strategy, and fostering a profitable and sustainable Trade business.


Key Responsibilities

1. Trade Customer Strategy Development

  • Develop and align Sales Force Trade strategy with company objectives.

  • Propose customer segmentation, coverage models, targets, and measurement frameworks.

  • Ensure alignment with line manager and overall sales direction.

2. Performance Analysis & Decision Making

  • Monitor weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales performance.

  • Identify gaps, recommend corrective actions, and implement action plans.

3. Store-Level Objective Adaptation

  • Translate regional objectives into actionable store-level targets.

  • Validate objectives with Area and Sales Force Managers and ensure consistent execution.

4. Process & Procedure Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to Sales Force Trade tools, reporting, planning, and CRM/METRO solutions.

  • Drive continuous process improvement and reporting accuracy.

5. Market & Competitor Monitoring

  • Conduct regular market surveys and competitor analysis.

  • Provide actionable insights for pricing, promotions, and strategic adjustments.

6. Supplier & Buyer Collaboration

  • Coordinate with suppliers and buyers to optimize assortment and operational efficiency.

  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and joint business initiatives.

7. Team Management & Development

  • Manage, coach, and motivate Sales Managers, Territory Sales Managers, and Key Account Managers.

  • Conduct performance reviews, field coaching, and ensure capability building through training.

8. Customer Acquisition & Growth

  • Acquire new customers and expand share of wallet with existing clients.

  • Strengthen long-term customer relationships and loyalty.


Qualifications & Skills

  • University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Business Management, Sales, Marketing, or related field.

  • 6–8 years of experience in Sales Management roles.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to adapt to METRO’s business model and trading operations.

  • Fluency in English and Urdu (written & spoken).

  • Strong customer focus and ability to perform under pressure.
