Job Summary

The Department Manager – Dairy, Bakery & Frozen is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the department, ensuring optimal stock levels, achieving sales targets, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and leading a high-performing team to deliver exceptional customer service and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage stock ordering and maintain optimum inventory levels

  • Lead and supervise Store Associates for merchandising, shelf management, stock control, and department cleanliness

  • Drive productivity improvements and operational efficiency

  • Achieve departmental sales targets and profitability goals

  • Execute mechanized night operations in line with DSO (Dark Store Operations) protocols to ensure store readiness

  • Ensure product presentation aligns with approved Planograms

  • Maintain compliance with SOPs, company policies, and operational protocols

  • Manage secondary displays according to BMPL guidelines

  • Monitor product expiries and implement FIFO practices consistently

  • Control shrinkage within approved limits while ensuring product availability and proper placement

  • Address customer complaints professionally and propose effective solutions

  • Ensure team discipline, punctuality, and adherence to uniform guidelines


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Intermediate qualification acceptable with strong experience)

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant retail/wholesale experience

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Solid understanding of inventory management and merchandising standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
