Job Purpose

The Quality Assurance Specialist (Own Brand) will support the development, testing, and quality monitoring of METRO’s Own Brand products, ensuring compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and product excellence benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

Product Specifications

• Develop and maintain specifications for Own Brand products.

• Update product data in MQuality systems.

• Ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate quality standards.

Product Testing

• Execute laboratory testing for Food, Near-Food, and Non-Food products.

• Manage sampling, store pickups, and coordination with laboratory teams.

• Review testing reports and handle related documentation and invoicing.

Own Brand Quality Excellence

• Conduct sensory evaluations and Fitness-for-Use (FFU) checks.

• Perform physical product evaluation and label compliance verification.

• Coordinate product evaluations involving professional chefs as per monitoring plans.

Artwork Review

• Review packaging and artwork for all new product developments.

• Ensure labeling accuracy and regulatory compliance.

New Product Development Support

• Evaluate new Own Brand products based on:

  • Physical attributes

  • Sensory performance

  • Fitness for use standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of education (Graduation) required.

• Preferably 18 years (Post-Graduation) in:

  • Agriculture

  • Food Technology

  • Food Safety & Quality Management

  • Food Engineering

  • Food Chemistry

  • Nutrition

  • Management

• Degree must be from an HEC-recognized university.

Additional Advantage

• Lead Auditor certification in:

  • Food Safety Management Systems

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Product or Brand Development

• Supplier Development & Training

• Food Safety or Quality Auditing
