Position Overview

MMBL is seeking a skilled Senior Database Administrator (Open Source Databases) to manage, secure, and optimize mission-critical database environments. The role involves implementation, configuration, performance tuning, and high availability management of open-source databases including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL in a large-scale production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions including replication and clustering.

• Administer and optimize MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.

• Design and enforce database security controls, user roles, and access permissions.

• Configure and maintain database replication techniques.

• Monitor performance using tools such as Robo 3T, pgAdmin, and other monitoring solutions.

• Identify bottlenecks, optimize slow queries, and perform capacity planning.

• Execute database patching, backup, and recovery strategies.

• Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, T-SQL, or equivalent) to streamline routine tasks.

• Stay updated with emerging security threats and apply necessary patches and updates.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience:

• 2–3 years of hands-on database administration experience in a large-scale environment.

Technical Skills:

• Strong expertise in MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

• In-depth knowledge of encryption, data masking, access control, and database security tools.

• Experience with HA/DR architecture and clustering solutions.

• Proficiency in performance tuning and database optimization.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Relevant database certifications will be considered a plus (not mandatory).
