📌 About the Role
The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of mission-critical SQL Server and Oracle Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS). The role ensures high availability, data integrity, security, and optimal database performance across the organization’s technology landscape.
🔎 Key Responsibilities

Implement and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions including Always On, Availability Groups, clustering, RAC, log shipping, mirroring, and Data Guard.

Configure and maintain database replication techniques to ensure data consistency and uptime.

Monitor and optimize database performance using tools such as SSMS, SQL Profiler, and Enterprise Manager.

Identify bottlenecks, tune queries and indexes, and conduct capacity planning.

Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, T-SQL) for routine administrative tasks.

Perform database patching, backup, and recovery operations to safeguard critical data.

Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and maintenance plans.

Implement robust access controls, encryption, and data masking to protect sensitive information.

Stay updated on emerging security threats and apply necessary patches and best practices.
🎯 Skills & Requirements
Technical Expertise:
-
Strong command over SQL Server (2012, 2016, 2022) and Oracle databases.

Proficiency in database security tools and concepts (encryption, masking, access control).

Hands-on experience with HA/DR configurations and database replication.

Familiarity with SSMS, SQL Profiler, and related monitoring tools.

Knowledge of database patching, backup, and recovery strategies.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

2–3 years of experience in database administration within a large-scale environment.
-
Certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate, OCA, or OCP will be preferred.
