Division: Network Operations & Maintenance Center (NOMC)



Job Purpose

The Corporate NOC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability and availability of corporate network services by responding to Level-1 escalations and performing advanced troubleshooting. The role involves resolving complex network issues, maintaining SLA compliance, and coordinating with internal teams and vendors to restore services quickly.

The engineer will support corporate customers by diagnosing issues related to IP/MPLS networks, core infrastructure, and transmission systems while ensuring minimal service downtime.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle escalations from L1 support teams related to routing and transmission technologies including BGP, OSPF, MPLS L3VPNs, VRFs, and LSPs.

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of IP/MPLS networks, routing policies, and QoS-related service degradation.

  • Investigate and resolve transmission issues involving DWDM, PTN, OTN, and SDH networks.

  • Validate configurations and implement minor corrective changes for quick incident resolution.

  • Conduct end-to-end testing with customers during fault isolation and service restoration.

  • Ensure SLA compliance by restoring services within agreed timelines.

  • Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical or recurring faults.

  • Document troubleshooting steps and share knowledge with L1 teams to improve operational efficiency.

  • Prepare and present incident analysis reports for management review.

  • Escalate unresolved or complex technical issues to L3 teams or vendors with complete diagnostic information.

  • Coordinate with operations teams and uplink partners to resolve fiber and physical layer issues.

  • Provide timely updates to stakeholders and customers during service incidents.

  • Support change management activities, including planned maintenance and network upgrades.


Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or related field

Preferred Certification

  • CCNA or equivalent networking certification


Experience

  • 2–3 years of experience in NOC, Network Operations, or Network Monitoring roles

Technical Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of IP networking concepts (IP addressing, VLANs, routing fundamentals)

  • Understanding of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP

  • Working knowledge of MPLS technologies including labels, VRFs, and VPN concepts

  • Familiarity with transmission technologies including PTN, DWDM, SDH, and OTN

  • Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies
