The Relationship Officer – SME at Mobilink Microfinance Bank (MMBL) is responsible for managing and developing relationships with Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) clients. The role focuses on understanding business clients’ financial needs, providing appropriate banking solutions, and contributing to the bank’s revenue growth through ethical sales and strong customer engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Implement approved sales and service plans to achieve growth targets in coordination with the Branch Manager (BM) and Relationship Manager (RM).

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, potential markets, and target customers.

  • Promote and sell the bank’s SME products and services according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Achieve assigned sales targets through ethical practices and compliance with bank policies.

  • Increase profitability by expanding the customer base and loan portfolio.

  • Develop marketing strategies to enhance awareness and uptake of company products.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with SME customers.

  • Identify potential business opportunities by evaluating prospects and industry trends.

  • Clearly communicate product terms, conditions, and benefits to customers.

  • Conduct regular customer meetings and relationship-building activities as per product programs.

Credit Assessment & Loan Processing

  • Evaluate customer profiles using the Five C’s of Credit (Character, Capacity, Capital, Collateral, Conditions).

  • Perform physical verification of prospective clients to ensure authenticity and business viability.

  • Process loan applications and bookings in strict compliance with bank policies and procedures.

Loan Recovery & Monitoring

  • Ensure timely loan repayments through proactive communication with clients.

  • Monitor customer repayment behavior and maintain 100% collection efficiency.

  • Guide customers to deposit loan repayments through the bank’s cash counter only.

  • Avoid handling customer cash except when necessary in field collections and strictly follow the collection manual.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Safeguard customer legal documents and prevent misuse.

  • Ensure compliance with bank SOPs and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulations.

  • Report any fraudulent activities or suspicious cases to the line manager or department head.

  • Protect the bank’s reputation by following internal control standards and risk management practices.

Reporting & Planning

  • Prepare a weekly field activity plan and review deviations with the line manager.

  • Continuously enhance product knowledge and suggest improvements based on customer feedback.

  • Ensure internal service standards are met and minimize customer complaints.


Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution (MBA preferred).

Experience

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in banking, finance, or sales (preferred).
