We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager – Engineering & Maintenance to oversee and manage all maintenance and engineering operations within the retail environment. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal functionality of all systems, minimize downtime, and lead maintenance teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations of the store
- Ensure smooth functioning of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting systems, generators, UPS, elevators, and civil infrastructure
- Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance schedules
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for maintenance and repairs
- Monitor energy usage and implement cost-saving initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and environmental requirements
- Handle emergency breakdowns and ensure minimal operational disruption
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and documentation
- Supervise and lead maintenance staff and technicians
- Support new store setups, renovations, and modifications from an engineering perspective
- Conduct regular inspections to identify risks and improvement opportunities
Job Requirements
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance management
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Proven ability to manage maintenance teams and budgets
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, practices, and procedures
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental standards
