The Chief Engineer is responsible for directing, controlling, coordinating, and actively participating in all engineering operations within the hotel. This role ensures the effective implementation of preventive maintenance programs, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of engineering systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all engineering and maintenance activities across the hotel.
- Supervise installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and utility systems.
- Manage civil, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and structural maintenance works.
- Oversee landscaping, gardening, and overall upkeep of the hotel premises.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.
- Introduce cost-control measures, process improvements, and work simplification techniques.
- Maintain and control the hotel’s master key system, ensuring proper allocation and security.
- Establish and enforce safety policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Manage procurement of maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Act as the first responder in emergency situations, including fire incidents, until authorities arrive.
- Participate in planning and execution of engineering projects and upgrades.
Academic Qualifications
Candidates must possess at least one of the following:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering
- BE – Electrical Engineering
- BE – Mechanical Engineering
