Job Purpose

The Zonal Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing sales operations within the assigned zone, ensuring achievement of sales targets, and leading a team of Territory Sales Managers to drive business growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of zonal sales strategies aligned with company revenue targets
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to cascade and achieve regional sales goals
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of Territory Sales Managers to ensure timely target achievement
  • Coordinate with Sales Support and Marketing teams to enhance route-to-market strategies
  • Track zonal budgets, analyze variances, and ensure cost efficiency
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers
  • Evaluate distributor performance and conduct regular field visits
  • Identify growth opportunities in untapped or underserved markets
  • Assist in negotiating pricing and sales agreements with distributors
  • Work with Marketing and QIRD teams to analyze product performance
  • Conduct regular team performance reviews and provide coaching and support
  • Ensure team compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights
  • Prepare and present periodic sales performance reports

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
  • Experience: 4–6 years of relevant sales experience, preferably in FMCG
