📌 Job Summary

The Territory Sales Manager – Trade will be responsible for expanding METRO’s customer base, driving sales growth, and strengthening customer relationships within the assigned territory. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, improving basket value, and ensuring strong market penetration through strategic customer engagement.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Increase new customer acquisitions and activation within the assigned territory
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • Improve profit margins by building high-value and profitable customer baskets
  • Expand customer portfolio by onboarding new trade clients
  • Increase average sales turnover per customer
  • Drive incremental sales by promoting cross-category products (Dry Food, D&T, S&C, etc.)
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through regular field visits
  • Conduct customer profiling, file maintenance, and data analysis before visits
  • Plan customer visits based on sales trends, gaps, and performance objectives
  • Follow up on visits to ensure conversion and sales closure
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities for strategic alignment
  • Provide internal feedback on customer insights and market intelligence
  • Evaluate customer-wise market share development and performance

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or Intermediate qualification
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant sales / trade experience
  • Strong understanding of retail/trade market dynamics
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer handling skills
