Job Overview

National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), one of Pakistan’s leading financial institutions, is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional for the role of Unit Head – General Financing (SME). The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing SME financing portfolios, driving sustainable growth, maintaining portfolio quality, and supporting the bank’s strategy for inclusive development.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee SME General Financing portfolios including:
  • Working Capital Financing
  • Trade Financing
  • General Purpose Financing
• Drive portfolio performance according to:
  • Approved business targets
  • Risk parameters
  • Profitability objectives
  • Sector allocation limits
• Review and assign credit proposals while ensuring:
  • Quality credit assessments
  • Timely processing
  • Effective coordination with risk management teams
• Monitor:
  • Portfolio utilization
  • Yield generation
  • Concentration risks
  • Portfolio sustainability and growth
• Support annual planning activities including:
  • Business targets
  • Portfolio strategies
  • Sector allocation plans
• Assist in:
  • Policy reviews
  • Credit guideline implementation
  • Process dissemination across SME operations
• Provide training, coaching, and technical support to SME field teams
• Manage team performance and support productivity improvement initiatives
• Perform additional assignments as required by management

Education & Qualification

Required:

• Minimum Graduation or equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized local or international university/institute

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline
• Professional certifications such as:
  • AIBP
  • JAIBP

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in:
  • SME Financing
  • Commercial Lending

Preferred expertise in:

• Credit Risk Assessment
• Credit Approval
• Credit Processing
• Portfolio Management
• Commercial Banking Operations

Employment Details
