We are looking for a detail-oriented Officer – Inventory Audit to ensure inventory accuracy, compliance, and effective stock control across retail stores and warehouse operations. The role involves conducting inventory audits, verifying stock records, investigating discrepancies, and supporting inventory management processes to minimize losses and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled and surprise inventory audits at stores and warehouses.
- Perform physical stock counts and reconcile inventory with system records.
- Investigate stock discrepancies, variances, and shrinkage issues.
- Prepare audit reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Verify compliance with inventory policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor stock movements, transfers, adjustments, and inventory transactions.
- Review GRN, stock transfer, stock adjustment, and inventory-related documents.
- Identify inventory control weaknesses and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with warehouse, store, finance, and inventory control teams.
- Support annual stock-taking and cycle count programs.
- Validate inventory accuracy and ensure proper stock reconciliation.
- Monitor adherence to FIFO/FEFO inventory management practices.
- Assist with loss prevention initiatives and inventory control measures.
- Maintain audit records, working papers, and supporting documentation.
- Follow up on audit observations and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
- Support internal and external auditors during inventory-related audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Internal Audit, Inventory Management, or Supply Chain Management will be considered an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, inventory management software, and warehouse operations.
Experience Requirements
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in inventory audit, inventory control, warehouse operations, internal audit, or retail operations.
- Hands-on experience in stock verification, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation.
- Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
- Exposure to retail, supermarket, hypermarket, FMCG, logistics, or distribution environments is preferred.
- Understanding of inventory audit methodologies and reporting practices.
- Experience identifying inventory control gaps and recommending process improvements.
