About the Role

Unilever Pakistan is seeking a skilled and results-driven Area Engineer to join its Foods Factory in Lahore. This position is ideal for engineering professionals who are passionate about maintenance excellence, operational reliability, continuous improvement, and manufacturing efficiency.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading maintenance operations, improving equipment reliability, supporting automation initiatives, and ensuring smooth plant operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Reliability Management

• Lead shift technicians during breakdown maintenance activities.
• Develop and implement maintenance and reliability strategies, including:
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM)
  • Condition Monitoring
  • Run-to-Failure Planning
• Conduct equipment criticality assessments to optimize maintenance planning.
• Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance inspections.

Equipment Performance & Troubleshooting

• Analyze equipment failures and identify root causes.
• Recommend and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues.
• Maintain records for critical production and safety equipment inspections.

Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement

• Manage procurement of maintenance services and spare parts.
• Drive localization initiatives to reduce maintenance costs while maintaining equipment reliability.
• Identify opportunities for automation and new technologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs.

Team Development & Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop mechanical technicians.
• Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for technical teams.
• Improve Personnel Knowledge Index (PKI) and Equipment Knowledge Index (EKI).
• Lead the Preventive Maintenance (PM) Pillar within the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework.

Project Support

• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams on innovation and capital projects.
• Support installation, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment and technologies.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Or a related Engineering discipline

Experience

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or industrial engineering environments.
