About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Lead Section Executive to oversee grocery retail operations, ensure optimal product availability, maintain merchandising excellence, and lead a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in retail operations, inventory management, team supervision, and sales performance management within a fast-paced retail environment.
Eligibility Criteria
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- Retail Management diploma or certification will be considered an added advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Working knowledge of retail management software, POS systems, and inventory control processes.
Experience
- 4β6 years of experience in grocery retail, supermarkets, hypermarkets, or FMCG retail operations.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Hands-on experience in merchandising, stock control, inventory management, and sales operations.
- Experience managing grocery and FMCG product categories.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales and operational targets.
- Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate with cross-functional departments.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the assigned grocery section.
- Ensure smooth execution of departmental activities and operational standards.
- Monitor stock availability and coordinate timely replenishment.
- Maintain attractive, fully stocked shelves, displays, and promotional areas.
Merchandising & Inventory Control
- Implement merchandising guidelines, planograms, and promotional campaigns.
- Monitor product quality, freshness, and expiry dates.
- Ensure proper stock rotation through FIFO and FEFO practices.
- Conduct regular stock counts and support inventory audits.
- Minimize stock losses, damages, and shrinkage through effective controls.
Sales & Performance Management
- Monitor sales performance and drive initiatives to achieve departmental targets.
- Analyze sales trends, customer demand patterns, and stock movement.
- Collaborate with inventory, warehouse, and procurement teams for effective stock planning.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and supervise Section Executives, Shelf Boys, and support staff.
- Train, coach, and evaluate team members to enhance productivity and service quality.
- Support store management in achieving overall operational objectives.
Customer Service & Compliance
- Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational and sales reports.
