Position Overview

METRO Pakistan is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Department Manager – Checkout to lead checkout operations, manage cashier teams, and ensure seamless customer service delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and the ability to maintain efficient front-end retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

Checkout & Cash Management

  • Reconcile sales reports from GMS with cash and credit transactions.
  • Oversee daily cash handling procedures and end-of-day controls.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in all checkout-related financial processes.
  • Manage cash tills and checkout floor operations effectively.

Team Management & Leadership

  • Schedule cashier shifts to ensure optimal staffing levels.
  • Train, coach, and develop cashiers to enhance their performance and career growth.
  • Monitor team productivity and address performance gaps.
  • Review and approve operational activities conducted by team members.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Ensure smooth implementation of customer service standards across the department.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and provide effective solutions.
  • Promote a customer-centric culture that enhances satisfaction and loyalty.

Team Development & Engagement

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and learning-oriented work environment.
  • Motivate team members to achieve operational goals and deliver their best performance.
  • Guide employees on new processes, technologies, and functional improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Intermediate qualification with 6+ years of relevant work experience, OR
  • Graduation with less than 6 years of relevant work experience.
