About the Role

Unilever Pakistan is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager Electrical & Instrumentation (PC) to join its Engineering team at the Rahim Yar Khan Factory. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical and instrumentation systems while driving electrical safety, automation, and digital transformation initiatives across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical & Instrumentation Operations

  • Ensure maximum reliability and uptime of plant electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Oversee maintenance of transformers, HT/LT panels, MCCs, generators, synchronization systems, AVRs, and distribution networks.
  • Manage field instrumentation, control systems, and automation equipment.
  • Conduct breakdown analysis, identify root causes, and implement preventive maintenance plans.
  • Support production efficiency through automation and process optimization initiatives.

Electrical Infrastructure Management

  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of site-wide power systems.
  • Ensure safe operation of HT/LT power distribution systems and backup power solutions.
  • Maintain compliance with electrical regulations, standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections and approvals with regulatory authorities and electrical inspectorates.

Electrical Safety Leadership

  • Lead the site's Electrical Safety Program and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and Unilever Life Critical Standards (LCS).
  • Promote LOTOTO compliance and safe work practices for HV/LV systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and corrective action planning.
  • Deliver safety training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.

Digitalization & Automation

  • Support implementation of Energy Management Systems (EMS).
  • Enhance equipment monitoring and condition-based maintenance programs.
  • Develop performance dashboards and improve operational visibility through digital tools.
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.

Stakeholder & Contractor Management

  • Collaborate with production, SHE, supply chain, and engineering teams.
  • Manage contractors, suppliers, utility providers, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or support CAPEX and plant improvement projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and in compliance with engineering standards.
  • Drive initiatives focused on energy efficiency, equipment reliability, and workplace safety.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience

  • 4–7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or processing industry.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of HT/LT power systems, generators, and synchronization systems.
  • Hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in instrumentation, automation, and industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with Energy Management Systems (EMS) and digital maintenance tools.
