Beaconhouse School System is seeking a dedicated and caring Assistant Play Group Leader to support the Early Years team in providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate should be passionate about early childhood education and committed to supporting children's developmental and educational needs.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development, Early Years Education, or an equivalent qualification/certification.
Experience
- 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role within an educational institution or childcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times by implementing appropriate precautionary measures.
- Assist the Play Group Leader in addressing the medical and care needs of children.
- Support the planning, preparation, and execution of classroom activities and learning experiences.
- Help maintain a positive, stimulating, and child-friendly classroom environment.
- Assist in resolving day-to-day issues involving children and communicate solutions effectively to supervisors and the Play Group Leader.
- Coordinate with parents when required and share relevant updates regarding children's progress and well-being.
- Encourage children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through interactive learning activities.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Child Psychology.
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Development principles and practices.
- Excellent understanding of Early Years Education.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational and classroom management abilities.
