HBL is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager International Operations to oversee international trade operations, governance, compliance, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing operational excellence across overseas locations, ensuring smooth execution of projects, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting senior management through strategic reporting and operational insights.


Key Responsibilities

International Operations & Process Management

  • Ensure timely delivery of assigned projects within agreed deadlines.
  • Support the execution and delivery of technology-related projects.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to arrange and facilitate trade and related training sessions at international locations.
  • Prepare and release the International Operations Dashboard on time.
  • Provide operational and system support to overseas branches for trade-related processes.
  • Assist international locations in drafting and improving operational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain trackers related to internal audit, policies, procedures, and governance matters.
  • Provide expert guidance to the Head of International Operations on trade and Trade-Based Money Laundering (TBML) matters.
  • Prepare presentations and management reports for senior leadership.

Audit, Compliance & Controls

  • Facilitate internal and external auditors during audits and operational reviews.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure committed resolution timelines are achieved.
  • Identify high-risk operational issues and work with stakeholders to resolve them proactively.
  • Participate in audit discussions to ensure factual accuracy of observations and closure of action items.
  • Drive reduction of long-pending issues, especially those outstanding for more than six months.

Leadership & People Management

  • Enhance team productivity through motivation, collaboration, and performance management.
  • Supervise departmental staff and provide guidance for sound decision-making.
  • Support team development through continuous coaching and operational assistance.

Organizational Support

  • Act as an escalation point for critical operational issues.
  • Identify emerging risks, trends, and operational bottlenecks, escalating them with recommended solutions.
  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Line Manager or Head of International Operations.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of banking experience.
  • Strong expertise in trade operations, governance, and compliance.
  • Experience in international banking operations will be highly preferred.
