Employment Type: Contract (3 Years, renewable based on management discretion)

NBP is currently seeking talented, dedicated, and experienced professionals for the position of General Banking Officer (OG-III) in its Aitemaad Islamic Banking division.

Position Details

Job Title: General Banking Officer (OG-III)
Reporting To: Branch Operations Manager

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Minimum Graduation or equivalent from a local or international university, college, or institute recognized by HEC Pakistan
  • Candidates with a Master’s degree, Islamic Banking certification, diploma, or relevant qualification will be preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of banking experience
  • At least 6 months of experience in Branch Operations
  • Strong knowledge of Branch Operations, General Accounts, and SBP Regulations
  • Good analytical skills

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Strong customer handling abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of KYC, AML, regulatory compliance, and branch operational procedures
  • Knowledge of Shariah-compliant banking practices

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage operational affairs of the branch while ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Ensure efficient product processing and superior customer service
  • Ensure compliance with banking laws, SOPs, and Shariah requirements
  • Oversee seamless account opening within defined turnaround time
  • Verify and authorize financial and non-financial branch transactions
  • Prepare accurate periodic operational reports
  • Balance ATM-related GL heads and report discrepancies
  • Ensure timely opening and closing of branch and cash vaults with required controls
  • Review balancing of vaults, deposits, remittance instruments, and other GL accounts
  • Monitor suspense, parking, and clearing GL heads for discrepancies
  • Process inward and outward clearing transactions smoothly
  • Monitor dormant, inoperative, and unclaimed accounts
  • Resolve customer complaints and operational issues efficiently
  • Maintain high standards of customer service
  • Manage budgetary provisions, income, expenses, and accruals
  • Ensure all branch ledger heads remain balanced
  • Address audit observations and support corrective actions
  • Maintain operational records, files, and documentation
  • Complete all processes within defined TAT
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by supervisors
