Job Overview

Islamabad Serena Hotel is seeking an experienced Manager Horticulture to oversee the planning, development, and maintenance of all landscaped areas, gardens, lawns, indoor plants, and nursery operations across the hotel premises. The ideal candidate will ensure exceptional landscaping standards, supervise horticulture teams, optimize resource utilization, and create a visually appealing environment that enhances the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and maintain high-quality landscapes, gardens, lawns, and green spaces.
• Supervise irrigation, fertilization, pruning, mowing, trimming, and pest control activities.
• Manage nursery operations, including plant propagation, transplanting, potting, and inventory control.
• Implement seasonal plantation plans for flowers, trees, shrubs, hedges, bushes, and turf grass.
• Maintain indoor plants and office greenery to enhance workplace aesthetics.
• Monitor plant health and implement effective pest, disease, and weed management programs.
• Ensure proper maintenance and repair of gardening tools and equipment.
• Optimize the use of water, fertilizers, pesticides, and other horticultural resources.
• Maintain records of plant inventory, maintenance schedules, nursery production, and chemical usage.
• Lead, supervise, and train gardening staff, contractors, and labor teams.
• Coordinate with procurement and vendors for horticulture-related supplies.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and recommend landscape improvements.
• Support sustainability, environmental initiatives, and CSR projects.
• Maintain organized nurseries, storage areas, and equipment facilities.
• Perform additional horticulture-related duties as assigned.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

• MSc in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in horticulture, landscaping, or nursery management.
• Experience within hotels, resorts, hospitality, or large corporate environments will be preferred.
• Proven expertise in maintaining large-scale landscapes, indoor plants, seasonal plantations, and supervising gardening teams.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in landscape design software and 3D visualization tools.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
• Sound knowledge of irrigation systems, nursery management, and plant care.
• Expertise in pest, disease, and weed management practices.
