Bestway Consultancy Services is looking for an experienced Head of Product Development to lead the planning, development, localization, and implementation of locally manufactured automotive components. This leadership role focuses on driving localization initiatives, optimizing production costs, supporting new vehicle programs, ensuring compliance with OEM standards, and delivering high-quality automotive solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product development and localization projects from concept to production.
• Develop localization strategies, annual plans, and long-term implementation roadmaps.
• Identify localization opportunities through feasibility studies, cost evaluations, and Make vs Buy analysis.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Procurement, Quality, Finance, Sales, and Marketing teams.
• Manage supplier identification, qualification, development, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Conduct supplier capability assessments, technical audits, and support APQP & PPAP activities.
• Review engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications.
• Oversee engineering change requests (ECR/ECN), prototype development, product validation, and new model launches.
• Perform target costing, supplier quotation analysis, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Coordinate with EDB and relevant regulatory authorities for localization approvals and compliance.
• Monitor project timelines, milestones, risks, and ensure on-time project delivery.
• Maintain technical documentation, localization databases, and management reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.

Experience

• 10–15 years of relevant experience in automotive manufacturing, product development, or localization.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of automotive components and manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on experience with supplier development, APQP, PPAP, and OEM quality standards.
• Expertise in cost analysis, localization projects, and cross-functional project management.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
