Since 1994, READ Foundation has empowered more than 130,000 children, including 14,000+ orphans, through quality education in over 600 schools across Pakistan. The organization also supports out-of-school girls through community learning centers, partners with Punjab's government for public schools, and provides emergency aid and rehabilitation to crisis-affected communities.

Job Purpose

The Academic Coordinator will ensure quality teaching and learning across all schools, with a special focus on Model Schools (ECE to Grade 5) and provide support to Satellite Schools (Multigrade) while preparing students for transition to Grades 6–7.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of READ Foundation's academic curriculum (ECE to Grade 5).
• Develop lesson plans, teaching guides, assessment templates, and practice handouts for teachers and students.
• Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
• Manage Literacy & Numeracy Coaches to strengthen foundational learning.
• Ensure Model Schools maintain quality standards for monitoring visits.
• Coordinate support visits from Model Schools to Satellite Schools twice each month.
• Supervise backup teachers and coordinate training activities.
• Organize winter camps for remedial and catch-up classes.
• Plan Grade 6–7 expansion, including curriculum, teacher training materials, and implementation plans.
• Coordinate with Islamabad trainers for annual capacity-building programs.
• Support achievement of literacy and numeracy benchmarks through teacher professional development.
• Review daily lesson plans, conduct school support visits, and recommend staff transfers or probation where necessary.
• Achieve student literacy and numeracy targets while documenting teacher observations and support visits.
• Travel frequently to project schools and occasionally conduct evening or weekend training sessions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education (M.Ed.), Educational Leadership, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with an NGO or development organization will be preferred.
