NAYAtel is seeking a skilled Database Administrator (Creative Solutions) to join its team in Islamabad. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in database installation, administration, performance optimization, backup, recovery, and high availability solutions across multiple database platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, manage, and maintain PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL databases independently.
• Plan, install, and configure database systems.
• Manage database users, permissions, and administration.
• Implement and manage PostgreSQL replication (Streaming Replication or Hot Standby).
• Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard (Active or Standby).
• Perform backup and recovery using PostgreSQL tools (pg_dump, pg_basebackup, pg_fdw) and Oracle tools (RMAN and Data Pump).
• Execute database failover and switchover activities.
• Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexing, and configurations.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for reporting and analytical purposes.
• Ensure database security, integrity, and high availability.
• Administer databases in Linux environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues independently.
• Perform routine database maintenance, including vacuuming, reindexing, and updating statistics.
• Manage and support large-scale database environments.

Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
• 1 to 2 years of relevant database administration experience.
• Good understanding of database design and data modeling.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases will be an added advantage.
