Mobilink Microfinance Bank Limited (MMBL) is seeking a Verification Officer to support branch business growth while ensuring prudent credit risk management. The role involves independent review and verification of loan applications, creditworthiness assessment, pre-approval and post-disbursement verification, and ensuring compliance with credit policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct independent desk reviews of loan files for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify discrepancies and ensure timely rectification before further processing.
• Participate in Branch Credit Committees and provide independent judgment on loan applications.
• Maintain MIS records of received, processed, and rejected loan applications.
• Analyze reasons for loan rejections and share findings with relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct pre-approval verification through physical visits or telephone verification.
• Verify borrowers, businesses, addresses, creditworthiness, reputation, and repayment capacity.
• Assess the applicant's knowledge of the business and intended use of loan funds.
• Review credit history in accordance with applicable regulations and credit policies.
• Conduct post-disbursement verification on a sample basis and report findings.
• Identify serious compliance issues and immediately report them to management.
• Ensure implementation of credit policy, procedures, guidelines, and procedural changes.
• Ensure required exceptions are properly obtained and documented before approval.
• Provide credit assessment training and capacity-building support to branch staff.
• Physically verify goldsmith credentials during onboarding as per bank policy.
• Conduct quarterly verification of goldsmiths and submit reports to Head Office.
• Supervise the gold auction process.
• Perform other assignments as directed by the Line Manager.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution.
• Preferred fields include:
  • Business Administration
  • Banking & Finance
  • Agriculture
  • Economics
  • Accounts

Experience:

• 3–5 years of relevant credit and related experience.
