Bestway Cement Limited is seeking an experienced Sr. Deputy Manager Environment to lead environmental management initiatives at its Hattar plant. The selected candidate will oversee environmental compliance, sustainability programs, ESG implementation, carbon management, and regulatory coordination while ensuring adherence to national environmental regulations and international environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, manage, and monitor annual environmental CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
  • Develop environmental KPIs and oversee sustainability-related projects.
  • Manage greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, ISO 14064-1 renewals, carbon footprint accounting, and emission reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain environmental records, databases, and documentation required for ISO certifications and compliance audits.
  • Coordinate with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regarding environmental approvals, NOCs, inspections, and regulatory correspondence.
  • Prepare and submit environmental monitoring reports and compliance documentation to regulatory authorities and the corporate office.
  • Support carbon credit initiatives by compiling emissions data, coordinating with consultants, and facilitating verification and registration processes.
  • Maintain and continually improve the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS), including SOP reviews and documentation updates.
  • Lead plant-level ESG implementation and reporting in line with corporate sustainability objectives, SECP disclosure requirements, and international ESG frameworks.
  • Track environmental performance indicators and contribute to sustainability reporting.
  • Assist the Head of Department (Environment) in managing all environmental operations across plant facilities.
  • Supervise and mentor environmental staff to ensure efficient departmental performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Sciences.

Experience

  • 08–10 years of relevant professional experience in environmental management, preferably within the cement or heavy manufacturing industry.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong coordination and communication skills with EPA officials and environmental consultants.
  • Thorough understanding of IEE, EIA, and GEA procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of environmental compliance regulations and industrial environmental management.
  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks, sustainability standards, and carbon management practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in plant operational environments.
  • Willingness to travel to other plant locations as required.
  • Capability to represent the company during regulatory hearings and official meetings.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder coordination abilities.
