Mobilink Microfinance Bank Limited (MMBL) is seeking a Verification Officer for its Kharian Branch. The role is responsible for supporting branch business targets while maintaining prudent credit risk standards through independent loan verification, credit assessment, compliance monitoring, and post-disbursement reviews.

The successful candidate will verify borrower information, assess creditworthiness and repayment capacity, participate in credit decisions, identify compliance issues, maintain loan application records, and support branch staff through credit-related training and capacity building.

Key Responsibilities

• Support branches in achieving business targets while maintaining credit risk within approved policies and guidelines.
• Conduct independent desk reviews of loan files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Identify discrepancies in loan documentation and ensure timely rectification.
• Participate in Branch Credit Committees and provide independent judgment on loan approvals or rejections.
• Maintain MIS records of loan applications received, processed, and rejected.
• Identify and consolidate reasons for loan rejection and share findings with relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate with branch management to improve rejection rates and promote credit best practices.
• Conduct pre-approval verifications through physical visits or telephone verification, where applicable.
• Verify borrower information, business activities, addresses, reputation, creditworthiness, and repayment capacity.
• Cross-check the genuineness, reliability, and completeness of loan documentation.
• Conduct post-disbursement verification on a sample basis and report findings to management.
• Verify applicants' knowledge of their business and intended use of loan proceeds.
• Review applicants' credit history through CIR, where applicable, in accordance with regulations and credit policies.
• Identify serious non-compliance issues during verification and immediately report them to line management.
• Promote a strong culture of credit compliance across branches.
• Ensure adherence to credit policies, procedures, prudential regulations, and applicable guidelines.
• Ensure policy and procedural changes are properly implemented at branch level.
• Ensure required exceptions are properly obtained and documented before approval.
• Provide functional training and capacity-building sessions to branch staff on credit assessment and monitoring.
• Physically verify goldsmith credentials before onboarding them onto the branch panel, as per bank policy.
• Conduct quarterly verification of goldsmiths and submit verification reports to Head Office.
• Supervise the gold auction process.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Line Manager.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree from a reputable institution.
• Preferred fields include:

Experience

• 3–5 years of relevant credit and related experience.
