Unilever is seeking an Assistant Manager – Imports & Exports Operations to drive the growth of its imports and exports business, identify new market opportunities, collaborate with distributors, support market entry, and manage product launches.

The role will also be responsible for brand-building initiatives in Afghanistan and other markets, along with end-to-end P&L ownership of seeding and export initiatives across Unilever International and related business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting & Business Development

• Identify, map, and develop new business and seeding opportunities using market data and insights.
• Evaluate potential business opportunities through market, financial, and deal analysis.
• Conduct end-to-end market opportunity assessments with customers.
• Recommend viable business opportunities based on growth potential and financial attractiveness.

Customer Selection & Appointment

• Research and assess potential distributors and business partners.
• Conduct comprehensive checks to identify suitable distributors.
• Support the selection and appointment of customers and business partners.

Business Planning & Market Launches

• Develop and manage internal and external business plans.
• Create end-to-end launch plans and route-to-market strategies for new product development.
• Establish networks and coordinate with the Supply Chain team for new product launches.
• Align with Category teams to ensure effective execution of market launches.

Performance Tracking & Monitoring

• Track and manage key business metrics and KPIs across marketing and trade activities.
• Conduct business performance reviews across relevant areas.
• Manage Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with customers.
• Manage customer claims and related commercial matters.
• Support payment collection and receivables follow-up.

Stakeholder Management

• Lead and align cross-functional teams to successfully execute projects.
• Collaborate with local operating companies to identify and deliver synergies.
• Manage Customer Claims and Trade Terms & Settlement (TTS) activities.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Customer Development within the FMCG industry.
• Experience in Key Account Management and/or Marketing is preferred.
• Experience in international trade and capability building.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams within a matrix environment, both physically and virtually.
