Job Summary

The Manager Internal Audit will support the organization in achieving its objectives by evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, governance, and business processes. The role involves conducting risk-based audits, business monitoring assignments, follow-ups, and special audits while ensuring compliance with established procedures and control standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of the annual audit plan for risk-based audits and business monitoring.
• Conduct and assist with risk-based audits across stores and Head Office.
• Evaluate internal control systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Obtain management commitment and action plans against audit recommendations.
• Conduct follow-up reviews to monitor implementation of audit recommendations.
• Coordinate with Performance Improvement METRO AG regarding updates to ICS Business Monitoring and Store Check tools.
• Lead and conduct Business Monitoring assignments according to the approved annual audit plan.
• Obtain action plans from stores for low-performance areas identified during business monitoring.
• Prepare observation reports for annual and partial inventory counts and highlight deviations from standard procedures.
• Provide ongoing guidance to departments regarding Standard Operating Procedures and internal control matters.
• Perform special assignments and investigations as directed by management.
• Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by line management.

Qualification

Candidates should possess one of the following:

• Qualified Accountant from ICMAP.
• ICAP Finalist.
• ACCA qualification.
• CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) will be an added advantage.
• Alternatively, MBA Finance from a reputable university with CIA qualification.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Statutory Audit, Risk Advisory Services, or Finance within a reputable organization.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel.
• Ability to quickly understand and adapt to the METRO Cash & Carry business environment.
• Strong analytical capability for reviewing and updating internal control systems.

Functional Skills

• Knowledge of operating procedures and Internal Control Systems (ICS).
• Understanding of accounting rules, revenue laws, corporate laws, and corporate governance.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to prepare and finalize high-quality audit reports.
• Result-oriented approach with strong process improvement capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GMS.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to continuously improve and update internal controls.
• Fluency in English and Urdu, both written and spoken.
