Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Finance to lead the company’s financial strategy, treasury, financial governance, compliance, budgeting, and overall financial operations. The role will act as a key financial advisor to the CEO, senior management, and Board while supporting sustainable business growth and ensuring strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise the CEO and senior management on financial strategy, business performance, investments, expansion, and transformation initiatives.
  • Lead working capital, liquidity planning, treasury operations, and rolling cash flow management.
  • Evaluate strategic investments and recommend suitable investment structures to support sustainable growth.
  • Ensure timely availability of financial resources for operational and growth requirements.
  • Oversee investor coordination and financial stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and protect company assets, liabilities, and overall financial integrity.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Strengthen internal control frameworks and establish authority matrices for CAPEX and OPEX approvals.
  • Oversee inventory valuation, vendor liabilities, receivables, and working capital management.
  • Standardize and improve financial SOPs to enhance governance, transparency, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor key financial and business performance indicators, including gross margin, EBITDA, and bottom-line performance.
  • Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide financial oversight of central store and receiving operations, including inventory reconciliation and asset safeguarding.
  • Coordinate retail audit activities and internal control reviews to ensure compliance and operational discipline.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, financial consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee import and export financial settlements, remittances, and regulatory documentation.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, financial analytics, and business performance analysis.
  • Monitor organizational KPIs and capital allocation efficiency to support operational and financial alignment.
  • Ensure strong corporate governance and ethical business conduct.
  • Support the Board by preparing financial reports, board packs, strategic presentations, and decision-support materials.
  • Facilitate effective communication between management and the Board through timely and professionally structured reporting.

Experience Required

13–15 years of financial leadership experience with strong expertise in treasury, compliance, and corporate governance. Experience in the retail sector will be preferred.
