Unilever is hiring an experienced and performance-driven Area Engineer to support maintenance, reliability, and operational efficiency at its Foods Factory in Lahore. The role involves leading technical teams, managing preventive and breakdown maintenance, improving equipment reliability, and identifying automation and cost-saving opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead shift technicians in attending to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requirements.
• Develop and implement maintenance and reliability strategies, including condition monitoring, preventive maintenance, and run-to-failure plans based on equipment criticality.
• Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance inspections.
• Conduct safety compliance inspections and maintain equipment maintenance records.
• Manage the procurement and servicing of maintenance components and equipment.
• Apply localization strategies to reduce maintenance costs without compromising equipment reliability.
• Analyze equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement necessary adjustments or repairs.
• Identify and introduce new technologies and automation opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Ensure inspection and record management of Quality and Consumer Safety-critical equipment.
• Conduct Training Need Analysis for Mechanical Technicians.
• Improve the Personnel Knowledge Index and Equipment Knowledge Index within assigned areas.
• Lead the PM Pillar under the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework.
• Collaborate closely with project teams on new projects and innovation initiatives.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Electrical and electronic systems
  • PLC systems
  • Heating and ventilation systems
  • Packaging and food processing equipment
  • Welding, machining, and fabrication
• Strong troubleshooting and equipment fault diagnosis skills.
• Ability to analyze data, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
