Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager Facility Management will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, planning, and reliability of critical Data Center and Core Location infrastructure. The role ensures uninterrupted network availability and compliance with defined SLAs for power, cooling, environmental, fire, and related facility systems.

The position will also provide technical support for Data Center planning, design, deployment, new installations, security, and colocation management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the operations and maintenance of critical Core Location and Data Center infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted services.
• Ensure 24/7 team availability for work order execution, equipment monitoring, corrective maintenance, and emergency support.
• Manage and maintain infrastructure including:
  • Generators and power systems
  • HVAC and cooling systems
  • Fire protection systems
  • Grounding and environmental systems
  • Transformers and rectifiers
  • UPS systems and LT panels
  • Switchgear, ATS, MTS, AMF, PFI and PCP systems
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules in line with the annual maintenance plan.
• Monitor Data Center performance, asset utilization, maintenance costs, PM compliance, and serviceability indicators.
• Review equipment performance and reliability to minimize unplanned downtime and improve operational efficiency.
• Proactively identify potential technical issues and recommend improvement and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Manage maintenance vendors and Service Level Management (SLM) activities.
• Monitor vendor performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs.
• Verify vendor invoices and recommend appropriate actions or penalties in case of SLA violations.
• Maintain adequate inventory of critical spare parts to handle operational emergencies.
• Prepare technical reports, analyze maintenance data, and provide recommendations for equipment improvement and energy cost optimization.
• Lead, train, motivate, and support operations and maintenance teams.
• Set team performance standards and coordinate the activities of maintenance staff.
• Conduct regular audits of power, cooling, and environmental equipment at Core Locations.
• Coordinate with vendors and management regarding equipment abnormalities and technical support requirements.
• Support Data Center planning, BOQ preparation, technical drawings, budgeting, installation, and renovation activities.
• Supervise equipment installation, site commissioning, and handover activities.
• Assist with vendor evaluation, selection, contract review, SLA implementation, and vendor performance monitoring.
• Manage security and access control for regional Core Locations.
• Ensure implementation of proper entry procedures, gate pass systems, work order monitoring, and incident reporting.
• Support colocation management and power and space-sharing activities.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, or Electronics Engineering.
• Data Center certifications such as CDCP, CDFOM, or CDCS will be considered an added advantage.

Experience

• Preferably at least 4 years of relevant experience in Data Center Facilities Operations and Planning.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Data Center facility operations and maintenance.
• Expertise in power, cooling, and environmental infrastructure.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Experience in vendor management, operator coordination, and SLA monitoring.
• Familiarity with Data Center certifications such as CDCP, CDFOM, or CDCS will be a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage teams and ensure high-quality, cost-effective maintenance services.
