Job Description

MMBL is hiring a DLH-Support Engineer to monitor, triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across its Data Lakehouse (DLH) pipelines.

The role involves working with an Iceberg/MinIO-based data lakehouse, Trino as the SQL query engine, Airflow for orchestration, Grafana and OpenMetadata for monitoring and governance, and Oracle for the database/DWH layer.

This is a shift-based role requiring availability for nights, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotational roster, supporting 24/7 pipeline monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor scheduled batch jobs, ETL pipelines, and file arrivals.
• Identify and report pipeline failures, delays, and discrepancies.
• Perform basic data validation using predefined SQL queries.
• Navigate Unix/Linux file systems and inspect log files.
• Verify file presence, size, permissions, and perform basic file operations.
• Monitor file transfers through SFTP/FTP.
• Troubleshoot upstream and downstream pipeline failures.
• Write and debug SQL queries to investigate data issues.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation of batch processes.
• Troubleshoot batch failures using logs and basic shell scripting.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and document findings.
• Take ownership of complex incidents through resolution.
• Communicate incidents, delays, and status updates to stakeholders.
• Maintain knowledge documentation for recurring issues and solutions.
• Ensure proper shift handover, including open and at-risk issues.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

• 2–3 years of experience in Platform Engineering or related fields.
• Prior experience in Managed Services or operational roles is preferred.
