Job Description

Beaconhouse Newlands Karachi is seeking a qualified and experienced MYP 1 (Grade 6) Science and Math Facilitator to deliver engaging, concept-based Science and Mathematics education in an International Baccalaureate (IB) MYP environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver concept-based MYP Science and Mathematics units using global contexts and statements of inquiry.

• Assess student learning according to MYP Criteria A–D and participate in standardisation and moderation.

• Collaborate with the MYP Coordinator and academic department on curriculum planning and interdisciplinary units.

• Conduct hands-on laboratory investigations and mathematical inquiries.

• Integrate Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills and the IB Learner Profile into daily lessons.

• Differentiate instruction for Standard and Extended Mathematics students, including EAL and learning support students.

• Prepare students for MYP 5 eAssessment where applicable.

• Ensure the laboratory is safe, organised, and adequately stocked.

• Support Service as Action activities and supervise Personal Projects.

• Maintain effective communication with parents through reports, conferences, and the school's digital platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualification or certification.

• Minimum 3 years of secondary-level teaching experience.

• IB MYP teaching experience is strongly preferred.

• IB MYP Category 1 or Category 2 workshop training in Science and/or Mathematics, or willingness to complete the training.

• Strong ability to teach Science and Mathematics at the middle-years level.

• Excellent spoken and written English.

• Strong classroom management, communication, planning, and student-engagement skills.
