Job Overview

Teknosys is looking for a Database Administrator to manage and safeguard mission-critical database platforms supporting enterprise and government systems. The role focuses on database availability, performance, security, disaster recovery, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and manage relational databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle.
• Manage NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
• Implement high availability, replication, clustering, failover, and switchover procedures.
• Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies and conduct DR drills.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and capacity planning.
• Monitor databases and respond to incidents using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, and Nagios.
• Implement database security, encryption, access controls, and compliance measures.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on database and application requirements.
• Automate DBA and infrastructure tasks using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Maintain SOPs, runbooks, backup procedures, and recovery documentation.

Eligibility & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of hands-on database administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle.
• Exposure to NoSQL database platforms.
• Experience with high availability, replication, clustering, failover, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of backup tools such as pgBackRest or Percona XtraBackup.
• Experience with automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or Nagios.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
